Coons/Burns Scholarship Fund
The Coons/Burns Scholarship Fund supports graduates of Valley Falls High School who plan to pursue a degree in science or education at Kansas State University, Emporia State University, or any accredited community college. The fund aims to encourage and empower students committed to careers in teaching or the sciences, fields that reflect the values and professional lives of the scholarship’s founders.
Established by Mary Jane Burns, a dedicated elementary school teacher in Valley Falls, and her brother, the late Dr. Bill Coons, a respected junior college educator, the fund honors their lifelong commitment to education.
